In a great local tale of man overcoming Mother Nature — or at least sideswiping the old lady — the 4,900 gallons of beer in the Manayunk Brewery’s seven tanks were saved from the Schuylkill’s murky water.
“It’s fine,” brewery owner Mike Rose said yesterday in his swelteringly damp and dark pub. “It’s all fine. The water never reached it.”
