Picanha Brazilian Grill

Posted by Foobooz on June 30th, 2006

We chow down on the Metro’s look at Picanha, and give you the digest.
Philadelphia is getting a couple of Brazilian steakhouses in the coming months, but why wait when authentic churrascaria is awaiting you in the Northeast?
Picanha Brazilian Grill is located at 6501 Castor Avenue and is ready to serve you in its all-you-can-eat best. The specialty is sirloin steak cut for you at the table. “Perfectly seasoned, proving that apparently one’s eyes can roll back in delight more than once per slice.” Also available to gorge yourself on is a continual rotation of meats, sirloin, flank steak, chicken, sausage, and pork.
At a reasonable $23 a person, enjoy the meat and “the strongest, richest coffee of your life.”

Unfortunately the story is not on the Metro web site but if you want to page through the .PDF online or read it in the paper, it’s on page 20.

Awful… We had a friend visiting Philly and took her there. I was so embarassed. I didn’t care about the decor – which is ugly, but everything at the salad bar wasnt fresh, we hardly got any meats, and the only tiny pieces of meat we got was SOOOO dry. Awuful, Awful,..$80 for 3 people was too much. I regret so much for going there:(

      I totally disagree with “anonymous.”

My girlfriend and I ate the best meat, the sald bar was fresh… and we ate to th epoint of almost splitting!

the meat, all of it, was awesome…and for two people we paid less than $40 including a large tip.

Very much recommended…. we will be regulars!

      Kudos.

Dev acted as the hook girl on Far East Movement’s Like a G6 and now she already gets to have her own tracks! Her debut song from her debut album (which doesn’t have a name yet) is also featuring producers The Cataracs, who also were on Like a G6! The single, called Bass Down Low, sounds similar to Dev’s other releases, such as Booty Bounce and Fireball. I wish Dev good luck and success in her music career!

I think my favorite part about foobooz is the dozens of random comments posted on old entries each and every month.

Never read this entry on Picana so the odd comment was helpful. I wasn’t really a fan of Picana. I thought that it was going to be like Fogo de Chao but less corporate but in reality it was nowhere near as good. Cool DJ and Brazilian chicks dancing etc but the food was only average.
