IRON HILL BREWERY & RESTAURANT TO GO SMOKE FREE
NORTH WALES, PA – On Wednesday, January 3, at 2 pm, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant will become 100 percent smoke free at all six of its area locations. In conjunction with announcing its company-wide smoke-free policy, Iron Hill will host the Clean Air Council and join it in supporting comprehensive, state-wide legislation that will require all bars, restaurants and other workplaces to be completely smoke-free.
“For our employees and our guests, Iron Hill has decided to go non-smoking at all of our restaurants,” says founding partner Kevin Finn. “The city of Philadelphia has led the effort by banning smoking in all public places, including bars and restaurants, and we believe that a comprehensive state-wide ban is the best and fairest way to implement this policy in Pennsylvania.”
The Clean Air Council is a nonprofit environmental health and advocacy organization dedicated to protecting everyone’s right to breathe clean air.
“With friends like Iron Hill the Clean Air Council continues to support comprehensive statewide smoke-free legislation that protects Pennsylvania’s restaurant and bar workers from secondhand smoke,” says Joe Minott, Executive Director. “These workers deserve the same smoke-free workplace rights enjoyed by the vast majority of employees in other industries.”
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, Iron Hill has consistently been recognized for its outstanding beers and cuisine, including 83 “Best of” awards from regional magazines including “Best Brewpub 2006” from Philadelphia Magazine. Iron Hill was named Large Brewpub of the Year 2005 at the prestigious Great American Beer Festival (GABF). In total, their award-winning handcrafted beers have received 30 medals from the GABF, World Beer Cup and Real Ale Festival. Iron Hill’s six locations are in West Chester, Media, North Wales and Phoenixville, and Newark and Wilmington, DE.
