The venerable General Lafayette Inn in Lafayette Hill is looking for a second location in Center City.
Owner/brewmaster Chris Leonard tells us via email that they’re on the hunt for the right location. The beery details, in his own words:
It would not be a brewpub, per se. It would be The General Lafayette Tiedhouse – an upscale gastropub specializing in General Lafayette beers (anywhere from 6-10 on tap and in bottles) – along with other craft beer – mostly local and draft. We would also continue our focus on fresh food made with as many local ingredients as possible. We would likely offer dinner and weekend brunch.
Leonard also tells us that the GL will be bottling two of its brews, the Abbey Blonde and Abbey Brune ales in limited quantities, starting this summer. Sounds magnificent to us.
Since it doesn’t have a location yet, we thought we would help it along with an audience participation version of Restaurant Yenta. Where would YOU, the craft-beer-loving public, like to see the General Lafayette Tiedhouse put down roots? Is the Broad Street Diner too absurd or just absurd enough?
