Our drinking and spirits columnist was pleasantly surprised by the new Philly-made liqueur Root. Now you can try it for yourself when some of the city’s most adventuresome bartenders debut original recipes at the Root Cocktail Competition, to be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 28th at Silk City Diner (435 Spring Garden Street).

The cocktails will be judged on taste, presentation, and originality by a panel of local celebrity judges and cocktail experts. The grand prize will include a $400 Art in the Age store gift certificate, and the winning recipe will be featured on www.artintheage.com.
