Doubling Down on Burger Madness

Posted by Foobooz on March 25th, 2010

Five Guys and 500º within an hour of each other. That’s what happened on Tuesday afternoon.

Elsewhere in the Metro, three staffers put 500º, Rouge and Five Guys to the test.

I cannot wait to try the 500 burger!

One thing I did notice is that when it comes to the price…the reason the 500 burger is cheaper then the rouge burger is because of the size, from what i have seen in photos it is substanially smaller — almost the size of a slider. Is this true or are the photos just deceiving?

It’s bigger than it looks in the photos (I think the toppings obscure the size). It’s definitely NOT the size of the Rouge burger, but it’s “taller” than it is “wider,” if that makes any sense. So it’s not humongous, but it’s a decent size serving.

Your right, the size and shape take alittle getting used to. I am used to getting a well done, Dvd sized patty with zero seasoning. No regrets by the second bite!!
The 500 burger is well crafted and offers that “quick fix” at lunchtime.
Its great to see a true trained chef preparing my to-go lunch meal.

      well done burger?
      whats the point?
so that would be a DVD sized hockey puck with no seasoning
      sounds delicious
couldn’t you just make that at home?

I meant that the other stores sell Dvd sized well done burgers… 500 has body, flavor and is juicy.
