She's Krafty: Kraftwork in Photos

Posted by kirsten henri on May 7th, 2010

Fishtown may be a bit beyond the periphery of your usual travels, but it’s certainly captured the attention of local restaurateurs — including Stephen Starr, who plans to open a beer garden in the neighborhood sometime in October. Adam Ritter, who operates the Sidecar Bar in Graduate Hospital, is the latest owner to travel down Girard Avenue, with his new project, Kraftwork, which opens today at the corner of Girard and Montgomery Avenues. The food menu features the thoughtful pub fare — including a slammin’ “beer can chicken” sandwich with hot peppers — we’ve come to expect from our Philly bars; for drinks, choose from 24 taps and a taut selection of cocktails named for architects and designers. Speaking of designers, take a look at Kraftwork’s unusual industrial-inspired interior, created by sculptor Andrew Jevremovic, in our Kraftwork photo gallery.

Went to Kraftwork for lunch the other day. Great beer selection and the food is very good as well. I ordered the Beer Can Chicken Sandwich, charcuterie plate and cheese plate (shared with friends along for lunch). Everything we ate (and drank) was nicely prepared. Very tasty. Recommend the chicken sandwich…two thumbs up.

Correctionfrom previous post:! Everything we ate (delete “and drank”)…
I had a couple pints of Bell’s Hopslam and a cocktail from their menu. Forget the name of it but the ingredients included: Vodka, Lemon, St. Germaine, absinthe… The beer was great and the cocktail was potent but refreshing.
