Wawa has replaced Sunoco as the title sponsor of Philadelphia’s Welcome America Celebration and as part of that, today is officially Wawa Hoagie Day.

Wawa Hoagie Day by the Numbers:

• 1 ¼ mile long hoagie
• Construction began on the hoagie toady at 5am.
• More than 100 Hoagie Engineers are constructing the hoagie.
• When complete the hoagie will weigh over 4 tons.
• June 30th will be declared Hoagie Heritage Day by Mayor Michael Nutter.
• At 7pm the hoagie will be distributed at the steps to Philadelphia Museum of Art.
• 72 steps make up the staircase on the east side of the Art Museum.
• At 8pm a Rocky look-a-like and sound-a-like contest will be held.
• At 9pm the movie Rocky will be screened at the steps to the Art Museum.
• Rocky won 3 Oscars and was nominated in 7 more categories.
