Can we call this less, “sourced locally,” and more “support of local businesses or local purveyors / vendors?” Because a lot of that meat isn’t produced here. That would be true sourcing. It may be processed nearby, but (a) it’s huge scale processing and (b) Dietz & Watson buys from large animal operations. There are so many other businesses in town actually “sourcing local” as well as supporting local businesses, that I’d hate to water down their responsible purchasing.

Looks like quite the eye sore!

Yeah, quite the eyesore, it really detracts from the post-apocalyptic aesthetic the area had before.

Yes an eyesore for sure. I was in New York a few weeks ago. Compare their new Brooklyn Bridge Park with what we have- a cement box in a parking lot (and Brooklyn Bridge Park is cut off by the BQE, so the I-95 excuse about it not being appropriate for development is nonsense). Until Philadelphians demand more from our so- called leaders, we’ll always play a second fiddle to cities like New York.

It would be really great if people would stop trying to make Philadelphia in to New York and have it embrace it’s own style of city.

Is Jack’s an open bar 24 hours a day?

Jacks is not a bar at all. Neither bar serves after 2am.

As you walk into the new Sugar House Casino in Philadelphia you get the feeling you just entered an airport. To me this was almost worse as the feeling you get when you know your about to go to the dentist and you hear the sound of a drill. The seats at the slots were basically uncomfortable bar stools. It’s apparent the budget for this casino was based on the idea that you can just through tables and slots in a building and they will come. This idea is fine for some but the spoiled and pampered gamblers who are accustomed to the “Atlantic City Experience” will not be impressed; especially if you’re accustomed to the Borgata or one of Trumps properties. The city should have just put slots in the city bars and avoided this eye sore they built on the Delaware River. What a big disappointment and a waste of my time.

I don’t get it. If sugar house is an eyesore. What do you call a piece of land filled with trash & stolen cars call?

I was very disappointed,Philly should have just kept to the cool unique non gambling city it was prior to letting these Blood Sucking Casinos in. The element of patrons were most likely a week from going broke and gambling with monies that should have gone for better uses, but don’t worry the City will now have to bail out many more unfortunate delinquents with more food stamps and health aid that will be coming out of the property owners in the area not the Sugarhouse. I like AC and I will Travel Back to Atlantic City to gamble and feel safe and have fun.
