BBQ Flavor at Fergie’s

Posted by Foobooz on November 9th, 2010

Mark Coates, owner and chef at the late-lamented Bebe’s Barbecue announced last night via his Twitter feed that he is he new chef at Fergie’s Pub and he’s bringing his barbecue with him. Coates lookes to bring a new barbecue-centric menu online within 3 weeks. Expect brisket and ribs on the menu.

Coates says we can consider Fergie’s the new Bebe’s location and the truck will still happen but Fergie’s is the priority at the moment and we’re cool with that. We look forward to our next bite of Coates’ barbecue.

      Great news! This is going to be a rough 3 weeks. Looking forward to it.

      That’s just freakin’ excellent, now we get Bebe’s + beer, how can you go wrong with that? I wonder if they will still do take-out?

      His barbecue is great, but it didn’t belong in the Italian Market and it doesn’t belong at an Irish pub either.

      It belongs anywhere we can get it and eat it!

      Cheers to Mark on the new location, and whoa, good get Fergie!

      I’ve been craving a pulled pork and some mac and cheese for months. Good news

      There’s nothing wrong with a Guinness-braised brisket to blend the BBQ and Irish culinary worlds.

      Hopefully he keeps much of the current menu as well. The fish and chips are the best in the city.

      Sweet less than 2 blocks away. Much better than chasing down a truck for BBQ.

      @Dave, braising is not BBQ.

      Indeed. Got little hasty in my excitement. Braise it and then pop it in the smoker.
