The Tiffin Empire

Posted by Foobooz on November 11th, 2010

Munish Narula’s Tiffin was recently named “America’s Next Top Restaurant Franchise” and was awarded a $100,000 prize. There are six Tiffins, a Tiffin Etc. and a soon to open high-end Indian restaurant at 777 S Broad. Will there one day be a Tiffin in every neighborhood?

My friends love this place and rave about it. They kept asking us to try it with them. We’ve tried the Mt. Airy location and the Elkins Park location. Meh. No reservations? Not so great. Tiny, crowded? Yes. Finally, is all Indian food this gloppy? Everything is swimming in some sort of sauce.

I didn’t know there was flavorless indian food until I ate at Tiffin. Tiffin isn’t even as good as mcdonalds. This just shows why we will always be the little brother in the food scene in america because of all the people that love crappy flavorless food in Philadelphia. It’s a surprise chew man chu didn’t survive with all you people craving poorly prepared flavorless food.
