What’s Jose Garces Doing Looking At Speck With Bart Blatstein?

Someone snapped this photo outside of Speck at some point after the lockout, and it depicts Jose Garces and Piazza developer Bart Blatstein chatting out in front of the restaurant. Could the Iron Chef be considering a go at the Piazza? And will he join the pool club? Blatstein’s camp swears the two have no plans to do business together.

      Nice try with the tree borders! Too bad each one has already been pissed on by 2000 dogs already. Look, ever since that crazy art expo with all the freaky toys and dolls, this space is cursed. Shola knew it and his witch doctor told him to bug out! Come on Bart, let the real vibe of the place show through, open up a TGIFridays in the space.

      Snarf Snarf – Shola is lucky – what a wasteland the Piazza is. Some day it will be a housing project… oh snap, it already is!

      Geez. Why does everyone have to be so negative, and so snarky? The Piazza might not be my cup of tea either, but give the guy credit for investing a lot of time and money to build something nice, and different from your normal cookie-cutter development, in NoLibs. I personally don’t go to the Piazza but I know people who go there often and love it. So if you don’t like it, just don’t go. No need to pollute the universe with negativity.

      Tony, please keep fertilizing the universe with your positivity. What you are suggesting is giving a crook credit for ripping a bunch of ‘little guys’ off so he can fatten his wallet and create a fake hip neighborhood. That’s some totally excellent fertilizer.
