Quick Bites: Dog Carts, Organic Burgers & More Outdoor Seating on the Ave

Posted by Foobooz on May 10th, 2011

Scott Dogs is the collaboration between South Philadelphia Taproom’s Scott Schroeder and Southwark’s man about charcuterie, Nick Macri. The hot dog cart will feature Detroit style dogs with a snappy bite. The cart is looking to debut at SPTR’s Wheat Beer Fest on Saturday, May 21st. [Meal Ticket]

The Cantina’s outdoor seating will be expanding in coming weeks as the East Passyunk hot spot is going to add seating to the lot next door. [Grub Street]

Burger.org has opened on South Street. On the menu, organic beef, chicken, turkey and fish burgers. [The Insider]

The Institute adds brunch this weekend. The menu will be offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and there will be $1 Bloody Marys and sangria. [The Institute]

Good news for many that Bitar’s isn’t moving from its 10th and Federal home base. Bad news for our lazy asses as they aren’t moving to near Broad and South, which would have been more convenient for us. [City Paper via Grub Street]

How could Schroeder pass up an opportunity like this to name the cart “Scott’s Weiners” or “Nick’s Meat”?

I really enjoyed your original blog but since your “new writers” joined in I find the articles super lame. Thanks for the first few years but I now turn my back on you. Sorry.
