More Thai for Center City

Philadelphia - Warsaw Cafe in Center City

Yesterday Naked Philly wondered aloud what might be coming to the former Warsaw Cafe at 16th and Spruce. The answer was posted the day before by the Vespa riding Holly Moore who tweeted that it would be a Thai restaurant opening in mid-Fall by a gentleman named Tom.

Update: The tentative name is Jasmine Rice and the ownership group also owns Trio in Fairmount.

Jasmine Rice is wonderful. Really great flavors. Have had the coconut soup and the lemongrass soup, both of which had the right amount of spice. An entree called The King and I – a combo of chicken and shrimp with peppers and green beans – really wow’ed me. Not heavily sauce and great spicy/sweetness balance. Tom is lovely and enthusiastic about his wife’s cooking. I hope people get out and support it.
