Quick Bites: Decks and a Dozen Good Picks

For the rendering nerds, Standard Tap has published a few looks at the under construction roof for its deck. [Standard Tap]

Drew Lazor of City Paper/Meal Ticket provides Saveur magazine with a dozen spots to check out in Philadelphia. Saveur’s cheeseteak mentions (2), Drew’s (0). Yay Drew! [Saveur]

Catahoula’s chef Paul Martin has left the Cajun spot for Los Caballitos. First up, overhauling the specials.  [The Feast]

Kenny Poon who is behind Ken Shin Diner at 3rd and Spring Garden is bringing Soho Noodle Bar and Lounge to the super-sketchy Eastern Today Bus Terminal at 1021 Arch Street. The liquor license is posted but Eastern Today is still open for whatever business it is that they’re in.

Christopher Thames of Roxborough’s Distinctive Fare Catering appears on Chopped tonight at 10 p.m. on the Food Network.

      Agh so what’s going to happen to Catahoula?!

      Barryg,

      I created Catahoula with the help of my sous chef and
      fiance. We worked very hard at giving Philly a taste
      of Louisiana. Since the three of us are no longer with
      the restaurant i can only presume that it will be a
      matter of time before catahoula fades into the sunset.
      The heart and soul of the place is gone and there isnt
      anyone left in the place that has any true understanding
      of Louisiana food and culture
