Philly Crepe Truck Tagged As One of 10 Best by USA Today

Yesterday, USA Today came out with its list of “10 Great Places To Eat Food From A Truck“. Most of the usual suspects were there: The Grilled Cheese Truck in L.A., Maximus Minimus in Seattle, and New York’s Big Gay Ice Cream Truck. But there were some odd ones, too. Like DC Slices in our nation’s capital (which even the write-up admitted wasn’t “wacky or outrageous” but “just good fresh pizza”). Or, much more close to home, La Dominique Creperie.

La Dominique parks it at 33rd and Market and, according to the USA Today, it’s run by a former sculptor and does a killer bananna/strawberry/Nutella version.

Personally, I’ve never been to La Dominique, but I’m guessing that some of you have. So two questions: One, does the place deserve the title of Philly’s best? And two, if it does, what is it about the place that makes it so special?

      I eat there often. Very good crepes, I like the Mexican and the Italian. They are not your typical crepes, the lines are long and slow but very good street food. Go around 2pm

      long lines at lunch but the crepes are good. I like coconut chicken with rice or just plain old plum butter

      it does not deserve the title of philly’s best, but it is definitely unique. the chef is quirky and subtly entertaining and his crepes are thin and excellent. fillings are v good, crepes are perfectly and attractively assembled, but lord is the man pokey. as someone else said, definitely go late/around 2.

      It was already tagged on one of Philly’s Best in your Cheap Eats issue a while back. Great crepes. I am partial to the Mexican.

      Great crepes, but also a great person running the truck. Yes, such a great person and awesome crepes. Long lines? Well, not a problem. For those West of Market, try Crepewalk on 37 and Spruce.
