Tomato Bistro Open in Manayunk


The owners of the Couch Tomato Cafe in Manayunk have opened Tomato Bistro, upstairs from the Main Street cafe. The bistro intends to serve cafe specialties plus small plates from chef Christian Gatti (Avril in Bala Cynwyd). The bistro also promises a smartly curated beer and wine list.

Won Best American-Style Lager or Light Lager at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival

Allagash White Belgian Wheat Beer- Portland, Maine (5%)
Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel, this beer is fruity, refreshing and slightly cloudy in appearance

Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA- Reheboth Beach, DE (6%)
A powerful, but balanced East Coast I.P.A. with a lot of citrusy hop character

Yards Brawler- Philadelphia, PA(4.2%)
This malt-forward, ruby colored ale is crafted in the style of English session ales.

Troegs Hopback Amber Ale- Harrisburg, PA (6%)
Balanced with caramel malt, this well-rounded amber ale has an up-front floral spice that builds with a flush of sweetness.

Anchor Liberty Pale Ale- San Francisco, CA (5.9%)
This hazy gold ale strikes a balance of malts and hops. A pleasant fruitiness with the quintessential bitterness that gives a sense of the old world

Weyerbacher Merry Monks- Easton, PA (9.3%)
The pilsner malts combined with the Belgian yeast strains yield a remarkable and complex flavor- perhaps you’ll note subtle hints of banana and cookie dough (served in a 10oz pour)

Brooklyn Lager- Brooklyn, NY (5.2%)
Amber-gold in color, this lager displays a firm malt center supported by a fine bitterness and floral hop aroma with a hint of caramel malt in the finish

Left Hand Milk Stout- Longmont, CO (6%)

Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. This dark and delicious stout will display a bittersweet chocolate taste with hints of coffee and roasted malts

Smuttynose Pumkin Ale- Portsmouth, NH (6%)
This Fall classic is a perfect balance of pumkin, hops, and spices – think cinnamon, brown sugar to provide the essence of what this seasonal ale brings to the table

Doc’s Framboise Raspberry Cider- Warwick, NY (5.5%)
Fresh raspberries are added to this apple cider during the fermentation process to give it a unique spin on a delicious cider. Gluten-Free!!
