One of a Kind Beer Event Tonight

Tonight Farmers’ Cabinet is featuring Liefman’s Brewery. Liefman’s is a classic Belgian brewery known for its sour brown and kriek ales. In 2007 the brewery went bankrupt and Duvel purchased the brewery. Since the brewery was purchased Liefmans has tweaked the beer, making it sweeter and more marketable.

The Cabinet will feature both new and old varieties of the beer including a special 2006 kriek. The event begins promptly at 6 p.m. with Liefmans glassware given to the first 15 attendees.

RARE: Liefmans VINTAGE 2006 Kriek
unsweetened (brewed before the brewery changed ownership)

Liefmans Oud Bruin
sweet/sour, malty, matures for 4-8 months

Liefmans Cuvee Brut
the NEW kriek: sweet & sour kriek, a blend of old brown beer w/cherries that matures for 1 year. Later, it is blended with oud bruin and goudenband

Liefmans Fruitesse
sparkling, matures on cherries for 18 months, blended with different fruit juices, sweet

Bottles:

Liefmans Goudenband
the most legendary of the Liefmans’ collection, matures in cellars for 4-8 months, malty, caramel-ly, tart

Flights of all five beers will be available.
