Pop-Up Cocktail Party at Cook this Wednesday

The Best Bars issue of Philadelphia magazine is currently on the shelves. The Foobooz list of Philly’s 50 best places to get a drink is online. We’ve written about moonshinin‘ and cocktail makin‘ and where to go for the most knock-you-on-your-ass Long Island Ice Tea in the city. And now that all the work is done, we’ve decided to celebrate the birth of the issue by throwing a little party at Cook.

And guess what? You’re invited.

We’re gonna have booze. We’re gonna have snacks. We’re gonna have George Costa from Pub & Kitchen slinging drinks and Rick Fitzgerald, creator of the Philly Flyer, Philadelphia’s official cocktail, there to mix up a few flyers for the crowd and tell his David-and-Goliath story of victory over impossible odds. Plus, for those of you out there who either really liked or really hated the issue, both me and Art are going to be on hand to answer your questions, tell terribly inappropriate tales of the research that went into the production of the issue, and defend our picks against all comers. Also, we’re going to be drinking, and we’re both WAY more amusing once we’ve got a couple cocktails in us.

The party will start at 6pm on Wednesday, November 9 (which is in two days), and go ’til around 8pm–leaving plenty of time for those wanting to keep the party going to decide on what bar to invade next. Space for this party is limited, so tickets are going to go fast. But you can get yours (starting…now) by clicking on the link below.

Hope to see you all there.
