Posted by Foobooz on March 15th, 2012

Starting Monday, March 19th 13th Street’s Spanish tapas bar Jamonera will debut it’s late night happy hour. From 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m every Sunday through Thursday, the wine bar will offer inexpensive drinks and plates. The specials will include $3 beer, $4 sangria, $5 wine and a $15 Sherry tasting. A changing cast of $2 tapas bites will also be offered. Look for plates like fried chorizo-stuffed olives and sheep’s milk cheese with Membrillo. Chef Marcie Turney has also created “Kitchen Staff Snacks,” playful dishes created after Turney and her team have finished a long night of work. The $5 to $10 dishes on any given night will include:
Jamón & Waffles Serrano ham-studded waffles with smoked mahon ice cream, maple syrup and crispy pork belly
Short Rib Pringa Bocadillos Short rib sliders with urgelia cheese, mustard seed-horseradish crema, pickled cabbage and fries
Desayuno Spanish breakfast, available with house-ground chorizo or grilled veggies, both accompanied with Spanish fried egg, ibores cheese
Papas Fritas
Bocata a la Plancha Three-cheese Spanish toasted sandwich with roasted piquillo peppers, grilled scallions, sautéed spinach, horseradish mustard and fries
