Little Birdy Spots “Good Beer” Delivery to Former Blue Bear Tavern

Matt and Colleen Swartz and Matt Scheller of Farmers’ Cabinet have confirmed that they are indeed taking over Blue Bear Tavern on 10th Street and are converting it into a Southern concept.

Just moments a go, a tipster let us know that the Blue Bear location was getting a delivery of “good beer.” So it would seem that they’re bent on opening their new concept quickly.

      So in your first post, you expressly disagreed with Eater. Then Eater confirms the Farmers’ Cabinet story, and in this post, you credit the Insider. That’s odd.

      Alex, much of my life is spent in RSS feeds. I didn’t see the Eater update, only the original post. I did see the Michael Klein post and credited him for the information. I have no idea who had it first, I just know where I found it.

      Maybe you could at least have retracted your statement that Eater was engaged in “rumor-mongering” when it first reported the Famer’s Cabinet connection, or acknowledged that Eater’s alleged “rumor-mongering” turned out to be correct.

      Tex, Eater’s title includes Rumormongering in it. So I didn’t call it anything that they didn’t.

      Geez, it’s Not like Blue Bear was any big deal original concept. It’s just a non-descript tavern that took over from another old place that was, once upon a time the pretty cool Doc Watson’s. That was Back in the 80′s when free/easy ‘love’ was available and nurses & nursing students were hanging at Doc Watson’s to ‘discuss’ it with you. Blue Bear…PuhLease! And a Farmer’s Cabinet thing…Who Cares? No place even close to vibe-worthy in that area, other than Milkboy and Vega Bar.
      I give it until the Fall, maybe 6 months.
