The Calendar Says It All, Tomorrow’s Friday the Firkenteenth

Posted by Foobooz on April 12th, 2012

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th and to Mike “Scoats” Scotese, owner of the Grey Lodge that means that it is time for another Friday the Firkinteenth. For the uninitiated, every Friday the 13th, Northeast Philadelphia’s best beer bar taps a series of cask conditioned firkins (small kegs of beer). At any given time there will be seven kegs pouring from the bar top at the Grey Lodge. When one kicks, another beer is tapped. This continues till Scoats and company run out of beer. With 20 or so firkins being tapped beginning at 10 a.m., that means there should be enough beer till about 10 p.m. or so.

If you haven’t been to a Grey Lodge event, you really should. They’re always among the most fun around.
