I don't agree, but I know that residents have a reasonable fear that Ocean City will lose its unique status as the kid-friendly shore point. I think there is a slippery slope fear that the town will devolve into a sea isle level of broeyness (I don't think a wild woodification is possible). I personally feel that byob would be great, but it is best to keep the place dry. Such a change will allow the town to offer some decent seafood for the first time in its existence, without opening the jersey shore door.

Is there any word on how likely this is to pass?
I think this is great idea. Anyone who thinks ocean city is a "dry town" should check out the recycling containers in the summer. Circle liquor does free delivery twice a day to ocean city residents, so it is actually easier to get booze in Ocean City than it is in Philly.
