To everyone who complained that the Federal Donuts in Pennsport was just too far, rejoice that Michael Solomonov and company are planning to open a second location on the 1600 block of Sansom Street, next door to Philadelphia Chutney Company.  According to the Philadelphia Real Estate Blog, the location will be about 680 square feet and open from 7 to 7 daily.

(7am to 7pm) will they be having chickens at lunch and dinner in other words 2 times a day? Or will their real hours be 7am till 12:30pm when the chickens run out.

This is totally going to fail. Who’s going to go to a place for chicken and donuts?

680 Sq ft is not much at all. Hopefully they have a big kitchen behind that. I can understand that their first location was based on the concept being a risk, but given the demand they’ve seen and the backing they have, a center city location needs to be serving both donuts and chicken all day.

To those who complained that Pennsport wsa “too far”: suck it up. You probably could have used the exercise.

Anyone else think the donuts aren’t as good as when they opened? I miss the fillings.

I really like the idea of Federal Donuts hiding in Pennsport BUT now it will be dangerously close to my work…

And if they ever decided to start serving chicken earlier…I’d be pretty OK with that, too!

Well, if can actually run it like a real business and have product all day long during you posted hours or operation, it might be a good addition to Center City. Currently, your business model in Pennsport has been nothing short of a joke.
