Impossible Restaurant Dream Team: Shola, Carroll & Glass Cooking at PAWS Dinner

Posted by Foobooz on June 26th, 2012

Yesterday marked the sixth annual Chefs’ Dinner for PAWS. The charity event raised $300,000 for Philadelphia’s homeless and abandoned animals. The Philly Post’s HughE Dillon was there and he snapped the above shot of three under-employed Philadelphia chefs (Jennifer Carroll, Monica Glass, Shola Olunloyo) teaming up to prepare a spring garlic soup with pickles and strawberries. Sounds interesting.

Glass also received word yesterday that she would be competing in the third annual StarChefs.com International Pastry Competition this September. Only twenty pastry chefs in the country were chosen to compete..

Shola is a joke in the restaurant world.

    • Anon

@Penniless the entire restaurant world is a joke both in the behind the scenes drama and the anonymous idiots who comment about it. Grow up. Why don’t you jackasses do something positive instead of trashing Lebecfin menu language,Shola,Matt Levin and all the other nonesense discussions on this site. You sound like a jealous loser.

    • no

Since it clearly happened, it wasn’t “impossible.”

    • Daytime Drinker.

You amateurs at foobooz are such bad writers.
What is the meaning of the term “under employed”.
Jen Carroll is busy with several projects commuting to New York and DC.
I gather from YOUR OWN stories Shola did all the food consulting at Honeygrow and Monica Glass is also consulting with Fish and other entities. Does the fact that a person is not formally in a restaurant make them less busy or “less employed”
It is such idiotic use of language.
Meanwhile Socialites like Michael Schulson who actually never cook ANYTHING in their restaurants and are more famous for dating played out chicks are considered “fully employed”
Is that how it works now.

shola gets hated on because he generally goes around town hating on everyone else, not actually working in restaurants, and being rude to the people who serve him. can’t say i feel sorry for him.

    • cleevus

shola looks down on everything, claims to be a chef, yet hasn’t worked in a restaurant kitchen in a decade. he should just be a critic and stop clowning around in his white t-shirt.

These comments make all you restaurant people look like a bunch of immature whiny losers..This city has the whiniest collection of food servers who are so self entitled.Newsflash people……you serve food in a fucking restaurant. When you want respect go back to college and get a real job. This was a story about a charity dinner that lots of people contributed to to benefit animal shelters but as is common in Philly the comment section becomes trash talk, whining, jealousy and all manner of anonymous nastiness.Raising money for PAWS has nothing to do with all the stupidity that goes on here.Get a life people.
Cleevus did someone steal your baby bottle while you were a kid.You manage to display a huge inferiority complex in such a short paragraph.

@daytime drinker – maybe try being a little less literal. the “under-employed” thing was obviously tongue-in-cheek.

    • FattyFatMan

The funniest part of the comments complaining about Foobooz’s poor word choices is that they are themselves are atrociously written and half thought.

“It is such idiotic use of language.”

      Ha!

Shola has made the BEST food I have ever eaten in the city Philadelphia, the best food almost never comes from a three star restaurant. It comes from a home, and that’s where he cooks his food from. You sad hacks that search out this guys name just to bash him have never eaten his food or heard through the grapevine that he yelled at a server six years ago. So what! The event that HE paid to be at helped raise money for the humane treatment of animals. As for is Shola a chef or not??? All you haters out there in the Chef world ask yourself one question . If Shola applied for YOUR job, would he get it??? You’re damn right he would. And when he took your job, would that him a chef and you not one??? The guy is a beast in kitchen, hands down. I’m out

if you guys thought Shola was a loser, you should check out his sister Kemi Olunloyo, she was recently arrested trying to evade deportation in Canada and had to be detained for a week before Canada deported her back to Nigeria google the whole olunloyo family they are a family of frauds
