Last Day to Get a Shake Shack Corn Dog

Posted by Aubrey Nagle on July 5th, 2012

The Shake Shack Corn Dog, that seasonal treat the Shack pulls out for the most patriotic of holidays — Memorial Day, Labor Day, and July 4th — is available for the last time today. The Vienna beef dog dipped in corn batter, fried, and served with sweet corn relish was released on Tuesday for sale until today, when it will be taken off the menu until Labor Day. Today will also be the last day to have the Oh My Blueberry Pie concrete.

If you need any more reasons to go snag one while you can, check out the Shack Corn Dog as it was featured on “The Best Thing I Ever Ate: On a Stick”. Sounds good, right? Claire Robinson thinks so.

North Bowl has house made corndogs year round. Without the line. Plus they cut their dogs in half which means an even better corn-to-dog ratio. But of course they don’t have a location in NYC so they couldn’t possibly be good.

I would have really liked to try the corn dog. In fact I just ordered two at the Shake Shack along with some burgers, but when I got home found they had neglected to include the two corn dogs. So I’m out of pocket $9 for food paid for but not received, and my wife and I who were looking forward to trying the corn dogs based on the above recommendation are massively disappointed. With the premium Shake Shake charges I’d expect better, and I am wondering whether if Five Guys would just get a liquor license (like in Washington) and serve shakes whether I wouldn’t just give up on Shake Shack altogether. Seemed like a great thing them coming to Philadelphia, but they seem to be failing in execution. I had to go hunting to find the paltry piece of tomato and lettuce in my shak burger. My order seemed to get lost somewhere along the way, and then my corn dogs got completely lost from the order.

OK, so have to credit Shake Shack on their responsiveness. I just submitted my sorry story to their website, got a prompt response from the local manager refunding our meal and offering to drop some corn dogs off if we were nearby or whip us up a batch next if we were able to pop in soon. on Labor Day.
