University City Dining Days Start Today

Starting today, July 12th and lasting through Thursday, July 26th the seventh annual University City Dining Days bring specially priced menus to over 30 West Philadelphia eateries. Priced at either $15, $25, or $30, each meal is a prix fixe three course deal.

At White Dog Cafe for $30, you can choose BBQ pork sliders, salad, or soup; hangar steak, chicken breast, or bluefish; and creme brulee or blueberry cobbler. To put the deal in perspective some White Dog dinner entrees alone cost more than this prix fixe menu, so take advantage of it.

Marigold Kitchen‘s Dining Days $30 menu leaves the choices up to you with 3-5 dishes to choose from for each course, including crab mac & cheese as an appetizer, crispy skin salmon as an entree, and basil creme brulee as a dessert.

In the $25 price bracket Baby Blue’s BBQ is serving three courses of southern cooking complete with fried green tomatoes, beef brisket, and cornbread. Zocalo will have its chicken taquitos as a choice as well as spicy black tiger shrimp and flan for dessert if you wish.

For $15 you can choose cheesesteak eggrolls, a blackened salmon sandwich, and finish with the cookie dough eggrolls at Slainte. Or go for the chicken coconut soup, Pad Thai and fried bananas at Thai Singha House. Did I mention it’s all only $15?

Make sure call for reservations in advance as there are sure to be a lot of poor, broke college kids lining up for cheap food that hasn’t been microwaved.
