Eating Dragons With Joseph Poon
Posted by Tara Nurin on August 2nd, 2012
For those of you looking for something classy to do at the Shore tonight, RSVP to attend a Master Chef Joseph Poon cooking demo at Bernie Robbins’ flagship store in Somers Point from 6:30-8:30 pm.
Those of you inclined toward jewelry should appreciate the chance the trunk show offers to browse the limited collection of one-of-a-kind John Hardy pieces (not to be confused with the master of douchery Ed Hardy). The jeweler will not himself be in attendance but his designs inspired by the Chinese Year of the Dragon will provide the centerpiece for the show and a nice conversational counterpoint to what Poon will be cooking to feed all the hungry jewelry fans. And hey, if nothing else, watching the man interact with the public is rarely less than amusing.
This being the Year of the Dragon (and with us following the Western astrological calendar), Hardy has created specific designs for each sign of the western zodiac. So for example, if someone you love has a birthday coming up this month (ahem, mine is in five days, not that I’m so tacky as to hint), Hardy would suggest you consider a sterling silver and red sapphire Leo Dragon Red Naga bracelet that projects the confidence, success and achievement worthy of the royal Leo. Get it? Because I’m one who’s more inclined toward food than material goods, I’d still probably be happier with a gift certificate for a famous Poon cooking class.
Not that I’m hinting or anything.
