Roe Opens in Old City

Posted by Aubrey Nagle on August 3rd, 2012

New Old City restaurant Roe Thai and Japanese Contemporary has just opened. At 138 Chestnut St. the new spot has an extensive menu of Thai and Japanese dishes as well as a sushi bar. The prices on the menu range from $2 soups to $19 lobster rice dishes, so there is a combo to accommodate every budget, as noted by Midtown Lunch who recently tried it out.

At first glance, the menu appears to be relatively expensive but once I really took a look at everything they offer, I was able to find a few legit lunches within budget (pretax at least…). Although the specialties include both Thai and Japanese, I had to go right for the Japanese side of things.

The restaurant features a small four-person sushi bar and tables for around twenty guests.

They’ve been open for months, actually. Their lunch deal is great – over the Midtown Lunch limit of $10, but for around $12 you get a ton of great sushi, a maki roll, salad, tempura, soup. Very tasty.
