On October 4^th chef Joe Cicala and Le Virtu will be presented a special dinner to preview their trip to the Abruzzo region ofItaly this April. The four course menu will be complete with wine pairings for $80 per person. Each course will highlight a stop on the itinerary of Le Virtu’s Abruzzo tour. Look for ingredients like “Marcelli” cheeses from La Porta dei Parchi, game  from the Maiella National Park, seafood from Abruzzo’s southern coast, salumi from the Gran Sasso National Park, and wines from Cantina Frentana and Cataldi Madonna.

Partial proceeds from the dinner will go to Tratturo Magno, an Abruzzo-based nonprofit which works in natural and historic preservation. Reservations for the dinner are required and may be made by calling Le Virtu at 215-271-5626.

If you are interested in going to Abruzzo with Joe Cicala and the Le Virtu family, you are in luck. Le Virtu is inviting anyone who wants to join them to come along. For $4,800 you will get lodging, meals, and transportation (excluding airfare) to tour the Abruzzo region. The farms and vineyards that provide Le Virtu with their ingredients and the mountain villages in Abruzzo will be toured. Meals will be had at the many dining establishments in the region.
