Food Trucks Debut at Night Market

A few recently opened food trucks in the area will be making their Night Market debuts at the Chinatown event on October 4th. Three new trucks along with beloved Fair Food vendor Good Spoon will be heading down to 10th and Race Streets from 7-11 p.m. on the 4th and we have the details.

The formerly Twitter-less Street Food Philly that launched in late August is among the newbies. Unless they pull out a few surprise items you are sure to find their Korean beef tacos and truffle parmesan fries, both menu staples.

Joe Spud’s Gourmet Burger and Fries has been all over West Chester since it’s opening on August 20th but had stuck mainly to the WCU and office building circuit until signing on to the Navy Yard lineup for this week. When they come to Philly expect fries with a variety of toppings and dipping sauces like Thai chili mayo. Also on the menu, specialty burgers with extras like broccoli rabe, Whiz, and avocado.

If you’re looking for a healthy option at Night Market, try Birds of Paradise, a new truck that aims to provide locally-sourced grub for all diets: vegan, vegetarian, and omnivore. Mia Bird, the truck’s owner, wants to help her customers choose healthy options for themselves and the environment, all inspired by her Christian values. Check out options like Mama Mia’s Anti-Cancer Slaw, Middle Eastern roasted sweet potatoes, and Philly LOVE Chili.

Last but not least Good Spoon, the soup and stew vendor you may have seen selling their seasonal wares at Fair Food Farmstand and local farmers’ markets, will be a featured vendor in Chinatown. Good Spoon is currently working on their fall soups so look for flavors like truffled cauliflower and butternut squash when they debut.
