Cease and Desist at Corner/Foodery Spot on Sansom

Posted by Foobooz on October 1st, 2012

This morning when we were heading over to Federal Donuts, we snapped the above photo through a scratch in the window at the forthcoming Corner/Foodery build-out at 1710 Sansom Street.

As we took the photo a big burly guy bellowed at us, asking what we were doing. When we responded we were checking out the progress he told us that he was protesting the construction.

When we returned to Federal Donuts a couple of hours later, a couple of Cease and Desist placards were taped to the doors.

We guess unions still do have some clout in this town.

Did you actually bother to read the notice before injecting your little anti-union quip? They don’t have the proper permits.

When organized crime votes, you call it a Philly union.

@No: Looks to me that the issue was not having the permits posted (“on site”), not that they didn’t have them. Although this is against code, it’s a pretty ticky tacky C&D order if that’s the case. http://www.phila.gov/data/Pages/default.aspx?entity=permits&eid=383533 and others here: http://www.phila.gov/data/Pages/default.aspx?entity=locationhistory&eid=525036

Philly unions are fat racist thugs.

andrew – do you feel that way about teachers unions too or are you just being a classist/pissing on the the blue collar folks? either way, you are a stereotyping toolbox.

You know Jim Kenney’s behind this in some way. He loves to aid union shake downs and kill restaurants at the same time.

Posting a permit is pretty basic stuff. If you go through all the trouble to get it (and believe me, L&I is no picnic, that’s the real shakedown), put the damn thing in the window. It’s permits 101- you got it, show them you have it by posting it in a clear location. I have a hard time feeling bad for anyone that lazy and ignorant.

Abby it’s Politics 101- Unions give lots of money to polticians so they have influence like this. i have a hard time feeling sorry for the Union members destroying development in this city with their inflated extorted wages. Most of them don’t live in the city and their minority memebership is a joke. Anywhere they hand out fliers gets my business.
