The Royal Tavern Celebrates Its Tenth Anniversary with Ten Days of Fun and Food

The Royal Tavern is celebrating its tenth anniversary in the only way they know how: royally. With ten different days of festivities, this anniversary is taking on the status of a royal jubilee. Beginning Wednesday, October 10th, the Royal will be featuring their “greatest hits” from their last ten years. Each day will offer a different menu, as executive chef Mark McKinney creates a tribute to all the items you loved and want the chance to taste again.

The celebration kicks off with a burger party. In dedication to when the Food Network named their burger number 1 in Pennsylvania, the Passyunk Avenue gastropub be dishing out their signature Royal Burger along with five other burgers you won’t want to miss. We’re talking serious burgers like a Hawaiian Burger topped with grilled Spam, roasted pineapple, Lomi Lomi tomatoes, and daikon sprouts.

Thursday is all about the chef as Mark McKinney whips up a menu of his personal favorites, like a Veal Cheek Grilled Cheese and a Cider-Braised Pork Belly with root vegetables latkes, roasted apples and mustard-cider jus.

On Friday, the appetizers take center stage as the Royal brings back your past favorites. Remember Pepperoni Pizza Soup, Bacon-Wrapped Tater Tots, or that Korean Fried Chicken? They’re back, but just for the night.

The festivities continue with past brunch specialties on Saturday and Sunday. Every celebration needs some pancakes, and the Royal Tavern’s Blueberry-Ricotta Pancakes will hit the mark.

Vegans and Vegetarians get excited, because Monday the 15th is your night. Meat-free wonders like Vegan Beef Stroganoff and Tofu Bulgogi Steak Sandwich are gracing the menu and are sure to cause even the most adamant carnivores to have a change of heart.

Tuesday is the sandwich’s time to shine as past stars like the Smoked Duck Club and Meatloaf Sandwich are back for a visit.

On a lighter note, Wednesday features a collection of salads, ranging from the Grilled Octopus Salad to the Louisiana Crawfish Boil Salad.

Thursday is a throwback as you can enjoy a drink with some old staff members, complete with a complimentary midnight Champagne toast for all.

Finally, the celebration rounds up on Friday with a dedication to favorite entrées. Miss that Shepherd’s Pie or those Crispy Pork Ribs? Make Friday the 19th your night.

We don’t know about you, but choosing which night to attend is going to give us a coronary. The only solution? Go to them all.
