If it was done at relaunch, I’d say “smart”. To do it now… at the very least suggests their original plan isn’t working out as well as they thought. If that’s the case it doesn’t mean its the wrong thing to do, but I’d say such a drastic change is a warning sign.

It’s still a minimum $300 meal for two. And that’s only if you choose a modest wine and refrain from pre-dinner cocktails. But it’s definitely a step in right direction. My only problem is I don’t like to eat so much food, i.e. I would prefer an a-la-carte option. I guess the downstairs cafe is more my cup ‘o tea!

I admire and applaud Nicolas for keeping with the tradition of Le Bec Fin, it’s beautiful ambiance and great food. It is a necessary staple in Philadelphia and should remain for another 40 years. We are in too much of a hurry to get rid of the old and bring in the new; there is nothing wrong with the “old”. Congrats to Le Bec Fin and the entire staff; keep up the great work. See you at dinner.

You could still get a better meal at Bibou, Farm and Fisherman,Stateside, Sbraga, Will, Blackfish, Mica, and Vernick for much cheaper.
