Just Announced: A THIRD Shake Shack Coming To Town

Posted by Jason Sheehan on January 29th, 2013

Last week, we got all excited over discovering that Shake Shack was expanding in Philly–throwing down on a second location in University City and bringing joy and cheeseburgers to Drexel and all its neighbors.

But now we’ve just gotten word that the UCity expansion was only half the story.

So we already know that the University City Shake Shack expansion will be at 3200 Chestnut Street (in the new Chestnut Square development) and that it’s looking at an opening this summer. But now we can also announce that King Of Prussia will be getting a Shack all its own, with a brand-new, free-standing shack going up near the King of Prussia Mall (because, seriously, where else would they put it?) that should be up and slinging burgers and concretes by the fall.

Randy Garutti, Shake Shack’s CEO, laid out the reasoning behind the expansion in simple terms. “We received such a warm welcome when we opened in Center City. It now feels like the right time to continue building our presence in Philly and the surrounding area with two new locations. We look forward to developing even stronger ties with the local community.”

No word yet on any of the regional specialties that either new Shack will be rolling out, but have no fear. As so many of you have pointed out, we’re a little bit obsessed with Shake Shack over here, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

So now that this is a just another chain hamburger restaurant, can we stop fawning on every move they make?
