Sorry Serpico, but there are enough great chefs in this town to not bother with some dbag who thinks we don’t know our Asian food, or that neighborhood restaurants are somehow unique in these parts.

And how insecure and misinformed is this Matt Duckor dude? I like to think that his overbearing and plain wrong commentary would smell fishy to anyone but the hyper-insecure New Yorker obsessed with proving his or her New York-ness. Good to know that his latest piece on the “ethnic melting pot” where he lives involves ever-authentic Szechuan food at a Montreal-style deli, and the one before that involves raving about Great N.Y. Noodletown, an insipid, overrated tourist trap if there ever was one. I know this is the cliche Philly reaction, but I think we have every reason to say “F*** this guy.”

What the Hades do they mean by that “big box” crack? I seriously cannot think of one restaurant that fits that description…

What condescending shitheads. If Serpico had bothered to even cast a glance at his South Street restaurant neighbors, he would have seen a plethora of fairly diverse cuisine.
