Steve's Steaks at 17th and Chestnut

Steve’s Prince of Steaks, a Northeast Philadelphia tradition has opened at 16th and Chestnut Streets in the former home of Krispy Kreme. We dashed out to check out the fast moving line and sample one of their cheesesteaks.

Premium price for a perfunctory cheesesteak.

Mushroom, Onion cheesesteak with tax was more than $10.

Counter person was surly and acted as though she was doing me a favor by selling an expensive sandwich.

Wanted to get fries as well but didn’t feel like waiting in a separate line and selling a kidney to afford it.

There is a food truck parked 25 feet out the door to the right that sells a great steak for half the price. They will even smile when serving you.

      I will not be returning.
