Garces Opening A Steakhouse In Washington D.C.

Come 2014, Jose Garces will be adding yet another city to his rapidly expanding resume. Word just came down that he’s signed a deal to open an Argentinian-style steakhouse inside the Loews Madison on 15th Street in Washington D.C.–which, yes, is where one of our other Big Names, Stephen Starr, recently debuted his new joint, Le Diplomate.

There’s no name yet, and very few details beyond the promise of lots of meat, open flames and an “early 2014” opening. We do know that Garces’s new operation will be replacing The Federalist inside the Madison–which was a restaurant focused on “resurrecting the culinary traditions of the Mid-Atlantic region”–and that D.C. now makes six cities in which our very own Iron Chef has a presence, with Chicago, Scottsdale, Palm Springs, Atlantic City and Philly already on his tour schedule. But as soon as we know more, you’ll know more, so stay tuned.
