Bridges, Burgers and Beers has been lunching at Reading Terminal’s Wursthaus Schmitz. He likes the Hungarian sausage sandwich just fine but calls the Bavarian one of the best sausage sandwiches he’s ever had. [Bridges Burgers and Beers]

Ants Pants Launches Dinner

Ants Pants Cafe at 2212 South Street is adding dinner service, starting tonight. It’s a full menu of small plates, salads, sandwiches and larger plates. A departure for the Australian themed cafe that until now has been known for bacon stacks and Violet Crumble milkshakes. We’re intrigued to try the Aussie Burger with grilled pineapple, roasted beets and an over medium egg.

Filter has soft opened at 252 South 12th Street. It’s a full-service cybercafe, coffee house and tea room. There is free wi-fi, workstation rentals for $5 per hour plus available scanning, printing, faxing and copying. Opening at 6am and staying open till 3am Filter has lots of amenities to use from early mornigng through night. There is a fee touchscreen jukebox and at night video games from old school Atari to new school Xbox Kinect will be available. This is the first of three planned Filters coming to Center City. The southwest corner of 20th and Walnut that was the Natural Goodness Market & Cafe is being turned into a Saxby’s Coffee shop.

Ants Pants is undergoing renovations. A new floor was installed on Friday and the rest of the repairs will be completed by Tuesday. The cafe remains open during its redo. We were there Saturday where we had this sandwich.

Pure Fare is “99.99999%” of the way there. The healthy food store and cafe will be serving San Francisco’s Blue Bottle Coffee. [Pure Fare on Facebook]

Holy O’s! Free Doughnuts Today

Dunkin’ Donuts locations all over Philly will be giving away a free doughnut to anyone who purchases a beverage in celebration of National Doughnut Day on Friday, June 5. Nothing small about these Quick Bites, open wide and devour!

Aqua, 705 Chestnut Street, may be opening as soon as Mondy and Michael Klein has the dish.
Also in Table Talk today it’s noted that Suede is looking to be reborn Triada, a “small-plates restaurant-cum-lounge.” Of course Triada should not to be confused with Tria or Trio. And there’s no truth to the rumor that riage, a small tapas and Emergency Room waiting area is opening near Jefferson.
Another item of note in TT, especially to those who miss Warmdaddy’s on Front Street, their new RiverView Plaza location is “about a month out.” (Table Talk)
