Charity Guest Chef Pot Luck and Beer Tasting at Lemon Hill
Posted by Aubrey Nagle on August 17th, 2012
Lemon Hill is having an eventful August with two more events happening August 26th: a rare beer tasting and a Guest Chef Pot Luck event. The beer tasting of rare Swiss beers features Jon Medlinsky of Khyber Pass Pub and starts at 4:30 p.m. The beers to be tasted will come from Brasserie Des Franches-Mantagnes, a small brewery in Switzerland known for their Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien an annually released wine-like beer. Attendance is $52 which also covers snacks and the beer. Seating is limited, so reservations are required.

Tonight: Beer and Cheese Tasting at Swarthmore Co-op
Posted by Tara Nurin on February 23rd, 2012
We know beer and cheese are supposed to be aged, but this is ridiculous…
At 137 years old, the Swarthmore Co-op is so old it doesn’t just remember when Brewerytown had breweries, it can tell you what color knickers your great-great-great-great grandmother would wear when she’d pick up her cheese from the local cow. But that doesn’t stop it from keeping up with the times by hosting a foodie book group, stocking organic spaghetti sauce and gluten-free nutritional bars, and throwing a local craft beer-and-artisan cheese bash at the store tonight.
