I want you to take a minute and think: What would be the best possible kind of food truck that could open next in Philly?
If you said anything to do with cupcakes, you’re wrong. Bacon? Get over it. Yakitori would be nice, sure. And so would some kind of mobile meatball-and-charcuterie operation that just followed me around all day dispensing meatball hoagies and salami sandwiches. But you know what the best thing would be? A truck that offered hot, battered and deep-fried cheese curds. Just big, heaping baskets of them, still steaming-hot, maybe topped with a little gravy or something…
So wait, is there a cheese curd truck coming to Philly or not?

We made our first stop at Bottle Bar East a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed the chill vibe and all those coolers full of beer to choose from. Tonight they’re offering a free Chimay tasting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. And the Frankford Avenue bar is following that up with live jazz from the Victor North Trio till 11 p.m.

Bottle Bar East has launched its full food menu, so now you have something to soak up and pair with their delicious craft beers. The menu consists of soups and stews, pickles, grilled sandwiches, and selections of meats and cheeses.
These aren’t any flimsy bar snacks either, we’re talking the real deal, like a Grilled Philly Cuban with prosciutto cotto, prosciutto parma, pecorino crottonese, roasted pepper and pickles, cheese selections from around the world and a pickle menu that’ll impress, consisting of caramelized crimini onions, cumin mushrooms, and spicy green beans, just to name a few. They also feature a “local” section within their sandwiches, with all the ingredients hailing from within 168 miles.
