BP To Become Apple Store?

If we had a nickel for every Apple Store in Philadelphia rumor we heard, we’d be very rich. But this tale comes from Mac Network News and not PhillyBlog. Brasserie Perrier may become an Apple Store.

The company [Apple] has allegedly signed a lease to take over the location of the former Brasserie Perrier restaurant, situated at 1619 Walnut Street. The surrounding portion of Walnut is said to be a high-end shopping and eating district, ideally suited to Apple’s strict aesthetics.

The shock, the outrage! Tomorrow, Brasserie Perrier is turning to skin to celebrate fall beer in an eye-popping way as Delilah’s Showgirls, undoubtedly filling out dirndl dresses will be featured along with beers from Victory Brewing Co..

Through the rest of October each Thursday from 5:30 to 11pm will feature another bier bash, Magic Hat will be featured on the 23rd and Troegs on the 30th.

More Bastille Day Celebrations

Our personal favorite for Bastille Day is still heading up to Eastern State Penitentiary in Fairmount but that doesn’t mean we aren’t tempted by these Bastille Day celebrations.

Bistro St. Tropez
It’s the 20th year Bistro St. Tropez has been hosting their Bastille Day celebration. Owner Patrice Rames is creating a special 3-course menu for just $35. And that price includes complimentary carafe of wine per table of 4 people and live Jazz piano. [Bistro St. Tropez]

Brasserie Perrier
It’s always a lively time at Brasserie Perrier with a DJ fueled party spilling out onto the sidewalk. A $30 three-course menu rounds up the fun.[Brasserie Perrier]

La Boheme
11th Street’s La Boheme will add a special 4-course, $40 menu to their regular offerings for Bastille Day.

Patou
Bistro St. Tropez’ east-side sister restaurant, Patou is offering a $25 prix fixe menu in their open-air dining room in Old City. [Patou]

$33 For 3 Courses At Brasserie Perrier

Every Sunday this Spring and Summer Brasserie Perrier is offering a 3-course dinner for $33.

Sunday night is also BYOB night at the Brasserie so diners can bring their own selection of alcohol with no corkage fee.

Tonight

Wednesday night is the night to check out Brasserie Perrier for happy hour.Select beers are $2, $4 specialty wines, $5 specialty martinis and complimentary hor d’oeurves.

Tonight might also be a good night to check out Chick’s Cafe & Wine Bar. Via In Pursuit of Ale we see the wine bar has a good beer list and some other dishes that have us salivating.

Brasserie Perrier at Boyds -Â Sandwich classics like the grilled cheese and chicken salad sandwich.
Giwa – Simple, good Korean food.
Fork: Etc. – Gourmet takeout in Old City.
Tria – Spanish tuna and black olive tampenade and arugula sandwich.

The Daily News has lunch at Brasserie Perrier at Boyds and finds the experience will chase away your bad mood and it’s a bargain too.

What I most enjoy about BP CafÃ© is that it is the Filene’s basement of food. Even the common folk can afford a cup of coffee ($2.50) and a slice of Le Bec-Fin pastries ($4) here. With a quick stop at the Wine and Spirits store down the block, you can enjoy a hearty lunch and make it an occasion. Then bask in the knowledge you’ve had the food out of the kitchens of Le-Bec and Brasserie for a fraction of the cost.

Tasting Philly Cooks!

Drew Lazor heads to Chester to check out Philadelphia Magazine’s Philly Cooks! extravaganza. And after 20 plates he can tell us that “some of the food was really crappy. For every great dish, there was a salty stew, flavorless prime rib sandwich or terrifying gnocchi-on-a-toothpick waiting to suckerpunch my palate back into Arghsville.”

But there were some winners:
Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti’s Crudo Skewer over Prosecco won Best Seafood Dish.
Brasserie Perrier’s veal cheek with goat cheese torellini got Best Meat Dish.
Valanni’s Oreo beignet received best dessert honors.
