What’s that? You’re sick to friggin’ death of all the Restaurant Week nonsense clogging up your favorite restaurants (and your favorite food blog)? Well then have I got a deal for you…

Over at Matyson, they’re doing their yearly “F.U. Restaurant Week” lobster tasting menu which, for just $45, gets you 5 courses of lobstery goodness, in a dining room where the staff isn’t ready to slit their wrists if they have to talk about the goddamn chicken special one more time.

You can check out the menu (and a couple notes on the menu) after the jump.

Don’t Miss This: Pork Asado at Jamonera

Posted by Jason Sheehan on January 28th, 2013

With just five short nights left in this year’s Center City Restaurant Week, we’ve decided to call out individually excellent dishes at participating restaurants–just to remind you, in case you haven’t yet had a chance to try them.

And we’re starting off with a strong one: The pork asado at Jamonera, which comes as a second full course (which, counting shared amuse plates, is really the third course) on the house’s Restaurant Week dinner menu. It’s essentially a pork-two-ways kind of plate, offering roasted pork shoulder and pork belly (in a sherry-orange glaze), mounted over a corn cake with a bright and palate-cleansing orange and fennel salad on the side. Pair this with the cana de cabra (fried goat cheese), some papas fritas and the nocilla bread pudding with bourbon-caramel sauce, and you’ll understand why Restaurant Week is such a killer deal.

It’s that time again. Center City Restaurant Week is nearly upon us, and in order to help you, the loyal Foobooz readers, get the most bang for your buck, we’ve combed through all the menus being offered by the 100-plus restaurants participating this year and come up with a few ideal meals for you to consider. And today, we’ve got…

Chez Georges at Le Bec Fin: Back To The Future

$35 a head.

$35 a head to eat at Le Bec Fin.

Okay, so you’re not up on the main floor (Chez Georges is downstairs), but you still go in through the same door. You still stand in the same lobby. You’ll still be being fed by the same kitchen crew that’s serving the swells upstairs for 4 times the price. And the menu that’s being offered for Restaurant Week at Chez Georges is really a kind of throwback to the French classics that once made Le Bec one of the greatest restaurants in America.

Not bad for thirty-five bucks. Even if you do have to eat in the basement. So let’s see how to get the best out of this menu, shall we?

Barbuzzo: It Gets Better

Tables at Barbuzzo aren’t exactly easy gets during a normal week. And during Restaurant Week, things are going to be even tighter. But if you do manage to score some real estate while the special menu is in effect, there’s something you need to consider. While things here might appear to start off slow in the early courses, no one knows how to finish strong the way Barbuzzo does. So let’s take a look at the best approach to their Restaurant Week menu.
