Got plans for tonight? If so, cancel them because tonight, April 24th, Han Dynasty and Sixpoint Brewery are hosting a collaborative beer dinner at Han Dynasty’s University City location.

Han Chiang and Sixpoint’s “Jersey” Dan Bisogno will be hosting the event (which will be only slightly less awesome than this), which starts at 7 p.m. Getting in the door will cost you $55 and yes, reservations are required.

It’s a popular dinner and tickets go fast, so make your reservations now.

Hey, speaking of Justin Swain, SoWe Bar & Kitchen has just introduced their new collaborative dinner series, which features the Rex 1516 chef as the first guest chef  this Sunday, April 21. The kitchen will be serving an innovative four-course prix-fixe menu created by Swain and executed by him, SoWe’s regular chef, Jenn Choplin and the SoWe crew.

This is part of a special collaborative dinner series featuring up-and-coming sous chefs (and star bartenders) preparing their best drinks and dishes for diners. This special event will be held every third Sunday of the month for the rest of the year with a rotating line-up of chefs and bartenders.

Buds, Blooms & Wild Asparagus – A Josh Lawler/Al Paris Experience

Posted by Alex Tewfik on April 12th, 2013

Heirloom-logo

Gone are the Winter weathered days of braised meats and heavy sauces. It’s April now, and in these next few months, the crowds crave the fresh, bright, and zippy. The world’s a-bloomin’, and the farm-to-table restaurants are locked and loaded.

For example, chef Al Paris of the timely named Heirloom will be hosting farm-to-table stalwart Josh Lawler (chef/owner of The Farm &  Fisherman) for an evening of what it really means to be eating well in Spring. As the third installment of their Chef Collaboration series, Buds, Blooms & Wild Asparagus will be an exciting five course prixe fixe menu, for $75 a pop (plus tax and gratuity) on Wednesday, April 24th. The first seating’s at 5:30 pm, and the next is at 8 pm, and the menu will be featuring all those funny-named vegetables you always have questions about. Fiddleheads? Stinging Nettle? Sounds dangerous delicious.

Here’s the menu. If you find it intriguing, make sure to call and reserve, because when the weather’s this nice (with the exception of today), people get excited, and excitement makes people hungry.
