Posted by Jason Sheehan on August 29th, 2012

Cooking at the James Beard House is no small thing. It takes a lot of work (and a lot of money) to put those plates on the table–as chef Jeffrey Power and his crew from Dettera would be the first to tell you. Here’s a quick peek at how it looks from the inside.

Posted by Aubrey Nagle on July 27th, 2012

As lobster prices hit a 30 year-low and finding funny colored crustaceans is at an all-time high we’re starting to see the seasonal specialty all over. Area Restaurants Still Drying Out

Posted by Foobooz on September 15th, 2011

The Delaware infringes on Charcoal in Yardley

When Hurricane Irene and the remnants of Lee roared through the area most of us escaped unscathed. But to some area restaurateurs the cleanup is still underway.

The Year in Bells

Posted by Foobooz on December 27th, 2010

Craig LaBan wrote the year in bells for yesterday’s Inquirer, highlighting 2010′s pizza trend and the continued importance of craft beer.

As for the bells, there were only a couple of adjustments, Ambler’s Dettera went from from one-bell to two as new chef Jeffrey Power made an impact. Pizzeria Stella lost a bell as Starr’s “A-team” moved on to other projects.

Personally we were betting that Fish and Fond would find additional bells in their Christmas stockings.

Check back throughout the day and week as we look back at 2010.

Hit-or-Miss Affair at Dettera

Posted by Foobooz on April 5th, 2010

dettera

Craig LaBan likes the wine selection at Ambler’s Dettera but he finds lots of other things to criticize.

Dettera suffers from such a host of serious issues, from ill-prepared servers to a kitchen that struggles to put out anything remotely worth the menu’s inflated prices, I wonder whether it has the substance to give its style staying power.
