Pie lovers who are looking for something new need look no further than South Street’s Magpie.

Just in time for summer’s heat, Magpie’s Holly Ricciardi is liquefying her inventory. That’s right—she’s decided to completely melt (and blend) down her fruit, cream and custard pies into 16 oz. pie milkshakes for customers to try while temperatures soar. All shakes are made using Magpie pies and Bassets vanilla ice cream. As shown above, they’re served in a Mason jar with a straw and a spoon.

Magpie Opens this Saturday

This Saturday September 1 at 11am Magpie Artisan Pie Bakery and Boutique will open its doors to the hungry pie lovers of Philadelphia. Open for lunch, dinner, or dessert from 11 to 8 p.m. owner Holly Ricciardi will sell sweet and savory pies (and pie fries!) in her eighteen seat shop. Slices will range from $4.50-$8.50, and whole pies will be $28-$35 and must be ordered in advance.

Magpie Bringing Sweet and Savory Pies to South Street

Magpie Artisan Pie Bakery & Boutique is coming to 1622 South Street this June. The twenty-seat bistro will include an eight-seat counter in a stylish bistro space.

Behind the pies is Holly Ricciardi who was an ad executive before turning fulltime to baking.
