Pie Milkshakes At Magpie

Pie lovers who are looking for something new need look no further than South Street’s Magpie.

Just in time for summer’s heat, Magpie’s Holly Ricciardi is liquefying her inventory. That’s right—she’s decided to completely melt (and blend) down her fruit, cream and custard pies into 16 oz. pie milkshakes for customers to try while temperatures soar. All shakes are made using Magpie pies and Bassets vanilla ice cream. As shown above, they’re served in a Mason jar with a straw and a spoon.

Have a Weekend Threesome at Magpie

Magpie is offering mini-pie threesomes each weekend, celebrating specific pie styles and seasonal ingredients. The South Street pie shop is kicking it off with a meringue trio featuring:

  • Blood Orange Curd with a Vanilla Bean Meringue
  • Passion Fruit Curd with a Hibiscus Meringue
  • Sweet Avocado Cream with Grapefruit Meringue

The mini-pies are available on Saturdays and Sundays at $10 for three or $4 a piece.

Next weekend it will be a vanilla trio.

New Cafe Items at Magpie

Though the weather outside is not even close to frightful, Magpie is prepping early for Jack Frost’s return. Using espresso from La Colombe, Magpie has crafted several hot drinks perfect for fighting off the frost.

The Pie Latte is made from La Colombe espresso, warm milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, topped with buttery caramel sauce and pink peppercorn. Other available lattes include the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Vanilla Latte, Orange Cardamom Latte, Peppermint Latte and Peppermint Mocha, all with syrups created in-house.

Since Magpie is extending their Friday and Saturday hours to 10 p.m., try their ultra-chocolaty hot chocolate with house-made vanilla bean marshmallows to avoid late night caffeine. Unless, of course, you’re into that.

The 12 oz. lattes sell for $4.50 while the hot chocolate costs $3.50.
