Some things sound too good to be real—but this is so real. chef Ben Puchowitz (Matyson) and chef George Sabatino (Stateside) are teaming up alongside Greg Moore (Moore Brothers Wine Company), to create a legendary eight-course dinner with exemplary ingredients and nonpareil wine.
With Chef Puchowitz’s mastery of the tasting menu, Sabatino’s ability to elevate ingredients, coupled with the endless wine knowledge of Greg Moore, this $150 dinner is basically a must-go.
The event will take place at Matyson on January 17th at 7pm. $150 includes wine, tax, and gratuity. To make a reservation please call 215-564-2925.

Okay, so maybe all those fancy apps on your smartphone aren’t actually that applicable to your life. But what if you could scan a QR code on your wine bottle when you sit down to order at your favorite BYOB and have pairing notes at your literal fingertips? Moore Brothers Wine Company has created a system which makes that easy to do, and gives you something to use your iPhone for other than Angry Birds.
The Pennsauken, New Jersey based wine seller Moore Brothers Wine Company specializes in bringing hard to find, traditional, small-production wines to the Philly area. After years of research and collecting data from numerous meetings with the winegrowers the company represents, Moore Brothers has compiled a substantial database of tasting notes, pairings, and Old World wine region history to go along with each bottle they sell.
But they continually encountered a customer service problem: if a customer had not visited the store in a while, or lost the hard copy notes they received in-store, what were they to do when they sit down to order?

It’s 10% off everything through Monday, June 30th at our favorite wine store, Moore Brothers where they are celebrating their 12th anniversary. So head over the Ben Franklin Bridge and pick up some bottles of wine. Then head out to a Center City BYOB to put those bottles to use. Of course that’s all illegal but hey, the PLCB is worse than illegal, it’s evil!

We really enjoy the insights when someone on the Moore Brothers blog describes a dinner out at a BYOB. Tony Jordan has his parents in town and he takes them to Pumpkin armed with a red and white.
The Wianno oysters, seared scallops, sautée fluke, and pork with spatzle worked perfectly with the Ratzenberger Riesling, while the braised short rib dish (a wonderfully complex preparation) was perfect with the Vinsobres.
This is what life’s all about: great food, great wine, and of course great company.
