Through June 30th: Spice Things Up
It’s been a few months since I’ve been to Divan Turkish Kitchen, but I still dream about the creamy, tangy Turkish Dumplings. Restaurant Club members who order one of their robust entrées or appetizers (try the Turkish take on the falafel) at this Graduate Hospital-area restaurant will get a free glass of wine. Just mention you are in Da Club. Ends June 30th.
Through August 1st: Savory Sweets
The chef of Old City’s Privé, Peter Karapanagiotis, is going to be on The Food Network’s Chopped in August, but we get to enjoy his Mediterranean food now. Restaurant Club members who order any one of the mezze plates or an entrée (think watermelon with feta and lavender honey or veal short ribs) will get one of Privé’s always changing desserts (they are usually spiked with things like lavender and cayenne) for free. Mention it to your server. Limit one per customer; offer ends August 1st.

Did you know it was National Nachos Day? We didn’t either until we saw it on MenuPages. So tonight, why not have some nachos, MenuPages suggests Drinker’s Pub, National Mechanics or Moriarty’s. We haven’t tried any of those but imagine it difficult to beat the nachos at Bishop’s Collar.

National Mechanics in Old City has been advertising their veggie burger as best in the world. A bold statement no doubt. So what does Living On The Vedge think?
Well, I’m not that worldly yet, but you can have the city. If I wasn’t so quick to dig in, I might have adjusted my flash so that the true beauty of National Mechanics’ house-made veggie burger could shine through. You’ll just have to trust that this was packed with every vegetable I can think of, did not even attempt to mimic meat, and was insanely delicious and satisfying.
