Pagano’s Market, now appropriately named Pagano’s Market + Bar is opening its bar to the public today at 4:30 p.m. Pagano’s will now offer craft beer, fine wine, whiskey and a bar menu crafted by chef Matt Pagano.
Menu items include sandwiches like the Half-Pound Steak Burger with fontina cheese, braised onions and a smokey chipotle sauce and entrees like the Baked Gnocchi Pomodoro with ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
While the first drink has already been raffled off to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania, there are still beers on tap and more than enough drinks to go around. Speciality cocktails include the Philly Pretzel Martini, made with Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka and Frangelico Liquor in a salt-rimmed glass, and the Godfather made from Famous Grous Scotch and Amaretto Si Sarrono on the rocks.

Thanks to a Foobooz tipster we’ve learned there are big doings at the base of Commerce Square at 20th and Market. The old 2021 and if you’re older, Cutters is being turned into an Asian Fusion restaurant by noted interior design firm, Jeffrey Beers International.
Also announced today is that the third DuJour Market is going to be opening in the complex where the Saladworks was previously.
This is all in addition to the Pagano’s Market that is going into the former Marathon Grill location.

We have word that Pagano’s Market, a quick-service restaurant we’ve never heard of (perhaps because it is located below ground at 7th and Market, an area of town we hardly ever visit) is opening uptown, in the Two Commerce Square space vacated earlier this month by Marathon Grill.
No exact opening date other than “sometime this summer.”
